    Declaration

It is inevitable to create a new social movement!

    Our friends, compatriots !

The „neoliberal left” created by the change of regime – is a nonsense but has a phenomenon and an expression. During the last 20 years it has turned its back upon its social base: the „people of the housing estates”, the agricultural workers in hopeless situation, in short the „lower social classes”, the Hungarian workers and hundred thousands of other employees. By now MSZP (Hungarian Socialist Party) has become the party of the „new middle class”. A party like this is called „modern left” by new ideologists. With shocking impertinency, these socialdemocratic parties monopolize the values of the left in order to represent the economic interests of the wealthy. The politics of HSP has resulted in losing 1.8 million of its voters, supporters as the figures of European Parliamenty election in 2009 showed. Many people seem to have forgotten that nobody can trust right-wing extremism which can only lie, incite violence, turns different groups of Hungarian people against each other, in short, it deceives its voters. We must not forget: the hands of the Hungarian right-wing extremists were stained with blood in the 20th century.

In Europe and everywhere in the world new leftist movements, organizations have been founded in order to defend the victims of the capitalist crisis, the economic and social repression, including millions of people working for their everyday life and to fight against poverty and the mortal influence of the new right-wing extremism, neofascism. Of course, successful defence can be achieved though the common will and unity of the the victims of the crisis and capitalist system. They must understand that their enemies are not other groups of people, of ethnic groups but their real enemy is economic repression, social exclusion, unemployment and poverty.

Who can trust the impertinent bourgeois lie, that by helping CAPITAL, i.e. banks, big businesses, the wealthy with the taxes of the citizens will also help the working people to overcome the crisis ?

It is our urgent historical duty to begin and reorganize the „lower social classes” both at national and international level. This movement can rely upon millions of the employees in trade unions and the unemployed people who pay attention to the course of events in the world and in our country and who do not want a threatening right-wing, conservative, authoritarian political change but have also got deeply disappointed in social-liberal governance.

The final program of the Hungarian United Left, the basis of the new social movement will be the result of a common intellectual effort. The „authentic” left should withdraw the „common global goods” (drinking water, air, energy, education, health system) from the control of the markets and should let the state control the banks, pension funds, insurance companies, it should stop and re-examine the privatization of the social security systems, of the pension system and of health care. However, the control should not be exerted by the souverain state, instead these systems must be subordinated to the democratic control of the self-ruling and self-managing producers and consumers. It is now clear for most citizens that it is only the new public initiatives that can show the way out of the crisis, leading to a more humane future, towards a fairer society. The key principles of these initiatives are institutionalization of cooperative production, the support for the social organization and self-defense, the stop of the destruction of the environment.

Constitution must acknowledge the viability of real public property, the initiatives independent of capital and state, the chance for a cooperative economy. We claim that the state should support each form of common property. New social consensus is necessary to combine the social, cultural and environmental aspects. There is urgent need for a basic collaboration with all similar European initiatives and organizations in order to construct a new European social and green Left !

Considering these experiences the organizations listed below have decided to initiate an open social movement in order to defend the interests of the socially and economically repressed people. The right-wing populism refers to nation and national sentiments while it represents even narrower interests than the social-liberal coalition. It wants to divide the nation by continuously collaborating with the openly racist right extremists, the Hungarian Guard, the neofascist movements. We are not deluded by the right-wing nationalist mitology, because we make up the majority of the nation: millions of employees and unemployed people in Hungary. Representing the Hungarian nation, we initiate a national and European cooperation based only on humane and communal values. For this reason, the Hungarian United Left has created a committee to prepare the elaboration of its economical and cultural project.

If you agree with our aims, join us before it is too late ! We have to be organized ! This is not possible without attracting young people. We are waiting for each benevolent individual while we refuse to work with pushers who have no ideas !
